fabrizio lapiana is a well-known name on the contemporary italian techno scene. he has been involved in music since the 90’s when he started dj ing in his hometown rome. to date he has over two handfuls of releases on labels such as figure jams, arts and m_rec ltd - as well as his own imprint, the well renowned attic music, founded in 2008.
intraverso is fabrizio’s debut album, set for release on his label. the record is a very personal journey, according to the artist himself. you here find him examining different territory than where he usually heads within his productions. the album, which consists of nine songs in total, was composed between april 2016 and february 2017 in his studio in rome. written in a state of -introspect-, we here see an artist in motion. changing. evolving. the perfect moment to explore something new and unveil a different side of yourself to the world.

after exploring georgian soundscapes, the intergalactic research institute for sound is honored to reissue stanislav tolkachevs blue mood. first released on aftertaste recordings in 2008, this masterpiece is in the institutes opinion one of the most impressive work of the ukrainian artist. for the occasion, stanislav created the artwork for the record in order to complement or maybe represent an idea behind the release. the institute plans to ask artists to deliver also a visual on top of their sound communication on the label. limited copies of blue mood will include a photography of tolkachev’s artwork. absolute limit, which finds itself on the b side, is a brand new track by tolkachev. as usual he delves deeper into abstract and distorted techno, delivering a truly mental cut.

after 2016’s mini-album shady and light, composer and guitarist martyn heyne releases his first full-length record electric intervals on the new 7k! imprint. says heyne: the number of parameters that determine a recording appears to be infinite. the mood, instrument, tuning, mics, room, temperature, time of day, all contribute to sound. the magic, once captured, is impossible to recreate. this might seem a hindrance, but it’s really the whole point of recording for me.’ opener ‘carry’, for example, is a composition carefully developed over months with most of the production happening in front of the microphone. ‘wilde wide’, however, was recorded only once as an early-morning improvisation. having worked with dustin o’halloran on the emmy-winning transparent soundtrack and with clarinettist claudio puntin as part of the duo set aglow, heyne’s sound is one of simplified diversity. on his debut album he controls each melody with the precision of a veteran producer.

uk-producer iglooghost veröffentlicht debütalbum auf brainfeeder! ende september 2017 veröffentlicht iglooghost sein debütalbum neo wax bloom, zwei jahre nach seinem einstand als teenager, der chinese nü year ep, auf flying lotus brainfeeder label. darauf dokumentierten vier tracks die abenteuerlichen zeitreisen eines wurmartigen wesens aus gelatine namens „xianhjiao“. diese geschichte wird nun auf “neo wax bloom” weitererzählt: zwei gigantische augäpfel prallen unerwartet auf die mysteriöse welt mamu. Über die elf tracks baut iglooghost einen typisch intensiven, hysterischen und vollkommen durchgeknallten soundtrack auf, bei dem er neue charaktere in seine fantastische welt einführt und außerdem seine alten freunde mr. yote und cuushe zurückholt. mit artwork von iglooghost selbst, enthält das vinyl ein großformatiges, risographisch gedrucktes und zwölfseitiges comic booklet sowie einen stickerbogen mit den charakteren aus neo wax bloom.

does the world need more acid? yes it does! the r-a-g trio aka dutch producers ma spaventi, g-string & aroy dee deliver three raw acid-jams with aroy on the couch working the mic. the lyrics of dreadfully nervous are based on a edgar allan poe story. dreadfully nervous (aryd s acid mix) is a gurgling brew of squelchy acid with dark vocals and pinging cowbells pulling you in all directions. coarse claps and ever more wild synths encourage you to cut loose and make for another timeless cut. dreadfully stoned is more stripped back, with a rubbery arpeggiated synth the main hook over subtle, supple drums. those dark spoken word vocals are back again and the whole thing is freaky and unsettling as a result. last of all is the bright and glistening no soul with metal hits and claps and prickly acid all bursting out of dusty chicago drums. it s raw and sure to fire the synapses just like r-a-g productions always do.
